Wicks Intimates was founded in 2025 by Lisa Taylor, a Kiwi living in Melbourne, with a simple belief: beautiful underwear shouldn't become harder to find with age.
Wicks creates lingerie designed specifically for bodies that have lived a little. Every piece combines luxurious comfort with thoughtful design features that support the changing needs of women's bodies throughout each stage of life. Wicks allows women to feel confident, comfortable and completely themselves.
The idea for Wicks began during Lisa's maternity leave, when she experienced firsthand how quickly beautiful underwear seemed to disappear once function became a priority. That experience sparked a much bigger question: why should women have to choose between comfort, confidence and beautiful lingerie at any stage of life?
Although, what began as a maternity leave idea quickly evolved into something else. When Wicks launched, it was expected that the brand would appeal primarily to women looking for an elevated alternative to traditional period underwear.
Within the first weeks however, emails began arriving from women in their forties, fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond. They all shared a similar story. They loved beautiful underwear but struggled to find styles designed for the bodies they have today. They wanted softness instead of scratchy fabrics. Comfort instead of bulky seams. Underwear that looked and felt like lingerie, while quietly helping them navigate life's little leaks.
Those conversations transformed the brand, and Lisa jumped on a plane to visit the manufacturer in Sri Lanka. The team changed every pattern to reflect the needs of a more mature demographic.
The more Lisa listened, the clearer it became that an entire generation of women had been largely overlooked. While much of the absorbent underwear market focused on younger consumers, mature women were searching for products that reflected who they were today—not just what their bodies needed.
Wicks evolved in response.
Today, every Wicks piece is designed with mature women in mind. We use luxuriously soft, eco-conscious fabrics, generous cuts and every Wicks piece is lined in GOTS-certified organic cotton that feels beautifully soft against the skin. Every style also features moisture-wicking technology, antimicrobial and anti-odour protection, with varying levels of discreet absorbency quietly built into the design. The result is lingerie that looks beautiful, feels exceptional and supports women through every stage of life.
Our customer isn't defined by her age. She's vibrant, active and confident. She values quality over fast fashion, appreciates thoughtful design and knows exactly how she likes her underwear to feel. She's looking for beautiful lingerie that works with her body, not against it.
